“The Discovery”!
Former open-air coal mine, the largest in Europe, today converted into green spaces, hiking trails and walks around a lake of several hectares.
2km away, the church Notre-Dame de Decazeville (19th century) houses an inestimable treasure:
a series of 14 canvases representing the Stations of the Cross painted by Gustave Moreau in 1863, it is the only symbolist Stations of the Cross in the world.
This work by Gustave Motreau was listed as a Historic Monument in 1965.
